What No One Tells You About the Difference Between Trading and a J-O-B

Someone recently asked me what’s the difference between trading and a J-O-B.

At first I thought “How do I even answer that?”

Here’s my answer…

I know people who spent years (and tens of thousands) going to college.

Did you know that 60-70% of college students graduate with student loan debt?

To me, that’s crazy.

Maybe you got a degree (and a great job out of the deal).

If it makes you happy and trading is only a side-hustle, respect.

But what happens in 5-years when you’re lucky to get a 10% raise?

Not to mention there are WAY too many jobs out there where people feel trapped.

There’s even a saying for it…

“Act Your Wage”

I can’t imagine going to a J-O-B every day and doing only what’s necessary to earn a salary.

Because with trading, even though you’ll put in more effort in the beginning…

Down the road there’s WAY more potential.

Especially when a hot market comes along.

If you’re prepared when a hot market hits, you can grow your account fast.

And I’m not talking about a 5% to 10% raise every year.

Instead, you can potentially see…

Exponential Growth

Once you learn how to trade profitably, you can apply the same skills to earn more.

The question you have to ask yourself is:

Do you want freedom bad enough?

It’s that simple (notice I didn’t say easy).

You won’t get away with “bare minimum Mondays.”

But with trading it IS possible.

Check out my profit chart, because I want you to see it clear as day…

(My results are not typical. As you can see, I put in years of hard work to develop skills and discipline.)

Can you see what’s possible?

My Growth by the Numbers

In 2017, the first year I started with Tim Sykes in the Trading Challenge, I was down $2700.

Then it slowly turned upward…

  • In 2018, I made around $37k
  • In 2019 made just over $122k
  • And in 2020 I made roughly $1.8 million.

Early on, I’d look at Tim Grittani, and Micheal Goode’s profit charts.

I studied and watched webinars (the webinars helped me most).

But the most important thing developed was…

Belief in the Possible

I used THAT to fuel myself, to work hard consistently every day (and you can do the same).

Work your butt off NOW… with full belief that you can get there.

All that’s holding you back is a lack of belief.

Look, we’ve proved that it’s possible.

But some people see it and think to themselves, “Yes, I believe it’s possible for YOU, just not for me…”

It IS possible for you, but I can’t make you believe it. You MUST learn to believe in yourself.

Be Careful Who You Listen To

It’s tough when I hear people say things that hold them back.

I’d say at least half the time they didn’t come up with it themselves.

They heard it from a teacher or a family member (or the news).

You have to be careful who you listen to, guys.

But every once in a while, someone says the right thing at the right time.

For me, it was Uncle Larry, who said the one thing I held on to in the toughest moments…

Stick with it.”

Have a great week.
